South Beach residents complain about rooftop parties

The Gansevoort South Beach has found great success with its rooftop bar

Local residents are complaining about boisterous, late-night noise at
South Beach hotels such as the W South Beach and The Clevelander, which
have been very successful with their rooftop bars. Two more hotels, the
SoHo Beach House and The Betsy have recently asked for approval for an
operating license for a rooftop bar. Miami Beach Commissioner Jonah
Wolfson has asked the city attorney’s office to write new proposals
that would regulate rooftop bars, although the proposed changes are
still being discussed. The Greater Miami & The Beaches Hotel
Association wrote a letter to city commissioners expressing its
disapproval with the proposed changes, saying there is no proof new
laws are needed. [Miami Herald]
