Gulf realtors lose contracts

Deborah Orr, a realtor on the Florida Panhandle, has lost four home
sales since the BP oil spill. Orr is one of many realtors in the area
who have seen sales contracts withdrawn, vacation rentals abandoned and
property values decline. Orr says she has lost $48,000 in commissions
because of the spill, and filed claims for compensation from the BP
fund. Liz Bradford, a broker with Island Real Estate near Bradenton, has
had two clients back out of deals because of the spill. [Palm
