In the far west of Pembroke Pines, 10 churches and Christian groups
have decided to put offices, classes and sanctuaries in converted
warehouse spaces. The groups range from an African-American congregation
to two Spanish-language churches. At first many moved to the spaces
because of tight budgets; now, they say they like them. “It helped us
get creative,” said Melissa Mashburn of the West Pines Community Church.
