By-the-hour Miami Springs hotel behind on property taxes

The Hotel Aladdin, a 50-room “adult-themed” hotel in Miami Springs, is overdue on more than $120,000 in property taxes. That means the city of Miami Springs missed out on $31,000 in tax revenue from the hotel, which rents rooms by the hour, in 2010. The property, most recently assessed at $4.5 million, was built in 2007 by South American developer Grupo Fernandez. The Miami Springs location is one of two Hotel Aladdins in the U.S.; there are six in Venezuela. [Miami Herald]
