Four former employees of foreclosure attorney David Stern have filed a lawsuit against him, accusing the so-called “Foreclosure King” of having violated the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) when he fired them with less than 60 days notice, according to CBS 4. The Law Firm of David J. Stern and its foreclosure processing company DJSP Enterprises, once one of the largest employers in Broward County, has laid off some 700 staffers over the past few months as his firm has come under fire for allegedly faking mortgage paperwork. “Stern and his enterprise of companies had to know that a downturn in business was possible because they were engaging in fraud,” said Gary Farmer, an attorney for the employees, who are seeking class-action status.
