Hurricane Cove in foreclosure

Miami River condo development Hurricane Cove is in foreclosure, after
Coral Gables-based Mercantil Commercebank filed a foreclosure lawsuit
against the project’s developers, as part of four complaints targeting
separate projects. The suits total nearly $46 million. The
developers planned to build 1,073 units at Hurricane Cove, something the
city approved until a lawsuit alleging that it would harm marine
businesses on the river overturned the approval. The project joins
fellow stalled Miami river projects like Coastal on the River and Brisas
del Rio, though the latter is not in foreclosure. [SFBJ]
