Presentation details foreclosure mess

The Florida Attorney General’s office has outlined sweeping evidence of
its case for foreclosure justice in a 98-page presentation titled
“Unfair, Deceptive and Unconscionable Acts in Foreclosure Cases.” The
presentation was given in early December at a conference of the Florida
Association of Court Clerks and Comptrollers. The presentation looks at
copies of allegedly forged signatures, false notarizations, bogus
witnesses and improper mortgage assignments. “What we got from this is
the state has had the opportunity to see where the laws have been
broken, and frankly, it is in large part thanks to the work of defense
attorneys,” said Palm Beach County Clerk Sharon Bock. “They’ve been
bringing these defenses up in foreclosure cases for years now.” [Palm
