TD Bank branch to run on solar power

February 24, 2011 01:56AM

A new TD Bank branch in Fort Lauderdale will supply all of its own
energy, making it the country’s first bank building that will not have
the need to draw power from the electric grid. The branch, which is
located at 665 NW 62nd Street in Fort Lauderdale, is designed to meet
LEED standards at the highest, or platinum, level. The so-called
“zero-energy” building is the first one in Florida to be registered as such,
according to a spokesperson for the bank. [Sun
