Palm Beach County sees foreclosure increase

March saw a 20 percent increase in the number of foreclosures in
February, according to a report from the Palm Beach County Clerk of
Courts. “We expect the increase in filings to continue as banks become
less hesitant to file,” said Clerk Sharon Brock. “We believe that as
banks become more comfortable with their foreclosure processes, they
will release files they have been holding and volumes will start to
escalate.” Brock’s predictions fall in line with those
of analytics firm RealtyTrac
, which also expected an increase in
foreclosures following several slow months due to the document-signing
crisis. [Palm
