Broward residential sales, prices up

Condominium sales in Broward County jumped 25 percent in March compared
to the previous year, and single-family home sales increased by 8 percent,
according to data from the Miami Association of Realtors. There were a
total of 1,837 condo sales last month, up from 1,474 in March 2010,
along with 1,169 single-family sales. Of all closed sales last month,
68.6 percent were cash transactions, and 60 percent were
international sales. “Currently, there is approximately eight months of
existing housing supply in Broward County, reflecting unhealthy levels
of absorption,” said Terri Bersach, president of the Broward County
Board of Governors of the Miami Association of Realtors. TRD
