Corcoran failed first co-op board interview

Barbara Corcoran may spend nights in a tony Park Avenue co-op these days, but the Corcoran Group founder failed her first-ever board interview. On purpose. Corcoran told the Associated Press that she fell in love with a $35,000 Greenwich Village one-bedroom in 1977 but later “chickened out” and threw the interview. She advises buyers today to simply dive in and “buy with your heart, not your head,” because “you can’t sharp shoot the market and pinpoint when it might peak.” Other tidbits of wisdom from the “Today” show contributor and “Shark Tank” judge: “Don’t pay attention to asking prices at all,” and price your home so that you’ll have a good answer when someone asks, “how long has it been on the market?” [AP]
