Foreclosure lawyers, AG in public fight

Florida Attorney General Palm Bondi is in a public fight with two
attorneys who prosecuted foreclosure cases that claim they were fired
for being too aggressive against lenders. “Obviously we did our job too
well,” Theresa Edwards said this week. “We were making too much noise.”
Edwards, along with colleague June Clarkson, was fired last week.
According to Bondi’s chief of staff, Carlos Muniz, the two were fired
because of issues related to “proper identification and analysis of
legal issues … judgment in discussing matters related to pending
investigations with third parties … and professionalism to opposing
counsel.” Muniz said the two lawyers’ performance was “unacceptable.”
Despite that, however, their evaluations had been high. [Sun
