The Florida Supreme Court has ordered an emergency suspension of Boca Raton attorney William O’Toole’s license after the Florida Bar said his home loan modification and foreclosure defense business was causing “great public harm,” the Sun Sentinel reported.
O’Toole has apparently been teaming up with loan modification agents to charge clients up-front fees of between $1,500 and $3,000, which, in Florida, is illegal for loan modification firms.
O’Toole is banned from accepting new clients and withdrawing money from company accounts per the July 25 order. [Sun Sentinel]
