Big Lots to fill two big vacancies in SF shopping plazas

Discount retailer Big Lots is opening two more South Florida locations in long-vacant spaces, the Ledger reported.

The first will open Oct. 7 at 4233 S. Florida Avenue in the Palm Center Plaza at the site of a former Kash n’ Karry. Another will open — to replace the Big Lots that started liquidating at 931 E. Memorial Boulevard in the Town Center — Nov. 3 in a space last occupied by Circuit City at 4212 98 North in the Village Plaza.

Scott Townes, district manager of Big Lots, said filling the big empty spaces in the area will be a boon for retail in both Palm Center and Village plazas, as shoppers flock to the 20 percent discounts the store offers. [The Ledger]
