Floridians pass on renters’ insurance

Almost 85 percent of Floridians renting their homes don’t have renters’
insurance, according to a report by Security First Insurance in Ormond
Beach. Of more than 2.1 million renter-occupied residential units, there
are just 331,398 renters’ insurance policies in Florida. Data from the
National Association of Insurance Commissioners, which represents
regulators, show that the average renters’ insurance policy costs
between $15 and $30 per month. [Sun
