Second lawyer indicted for Wellington-area mortgage fraud

A second lawyer, Kimberly Daise, has been indicted for alleged mortgage
fraud at the Versailles development in Wellington, following a guilty
plea by Lake Worth attorney Carol Asbury. Daise, who has been a lawyer
in Florida since 1989, was indicted for allegedly participating in a
scheme that involved creating false HUD-1 forms to inflate sales prices
on two homes in the development. According to the indictment, more than
$1.575 million in loans were made on one home in Versailles to a straw
buyer through Daise’s alleged scheme. [Palm
