Two brothers are putting their Golden Beach, Miami homes up for auction in what could be the priciest voluntary property auction in South Florida history, according to the Miami Herald.

The brothers, Steven and Robert Fox, each moved to the area in 1990 and bought comparable 7,700-square-foot, Ocean Boulevard homes: Steve purchased a one-story home with four bedrooms, a pool, private beach and courtyard for $1.6 million, and Bobby bought a two-story house with six bedrooms, a fountain, pool and private beach.

The two are retired empty-nesters and put their homes on the market with an asking price of $12.9 million and $11.5 million, respectively. Sick of waiting for a buyer to come along after the homes have been on the market for more than two years, each brother will auction off his home through the Fisher Auction Company Nov. 10. A refundable deposit of $500,000 is required to bid on either one of them. [Miami Herald via Philadelphia Inquirer]
