A casino in Palm Beach?

Las Vegas Sands, which is one of the reported suitors for a proposed
second casino site in Miami (if Asian firm Genting gets approval for its
plan), would position its site as a center for conventions and
conferences. But Miami may not be its only target — according to the
company, it is considering a range of locations — even Palm Beach.
“Because the new [casino] bill allows every county to opt in, there is a
very good chance that we would look at Palm Beach,” said Any Abboud, VP
of government relations and community development with the company.
“Because it’s a statewide effort, we are only going to go where the
political will is to have it.” Abboud said Sands had met with Miami
Worldcenter, considered a potential casino site, more than once, and
called the location “intriguing.” [SFBJ]
