Queen Latifah eyes Wynwood

The Miami Community Redevelopment Agency is working to bring singer and actress Queen Latifah to Wynwood, and her representatives have already toured the area and shown interest, according to Michelle Spence-Jones, Miami city commissioner. “It would be a great booster,” Spence-Jones said. “Atlanta gives her a 30 percent tax incentive, so we’re not talking about a big rebate here.” While Latifah currently houses her production company in Atlanta, it’s thought that she could set up at the Wynwood Free Trade Zone, where Charlie’s Angels was filmed. That property is owned by Moishe Mana. “Moishe Mana owns 22 acres, and it’s very high-end stuff,” Spence-Jones said. [Miami Today]
