Palm Beach foreclosures rise 65 percent

Palm Beach County saw 1,502 new foreclosure filings in March, a 65 percent increase over the same period in 2011, the Palm Beach Post reported. That represented a 25.4 percent increase from February. “This is one of the most dramatic month-to-month increases we’ve seen in more than a year,” said Sharon Bock, Palm Beach County’s Clerk. “And the timing for an increase in foreclosure filings couldn’t be worse, since Florida’s clerks will see their budgets dramatically cut on July 1. This will slow down case processing significantly.” After a long lull due to the foreclosure document scandal, Florida foreclosures have been on the rise in recent months. [Palm Beach Post]
