City of Miami hears proposals for Scotty’s Landing site in Coconut Grove

Scotty’s Landing, the longtime waterfront bar and restaurant in Coconut Grove, could be replaced, the Miami Herald reported. A number of suitors are bidding for a 40-year lease on the site, with five companies offering proposals to the city of Miami. One bidder, Scott Wessel, who currently operates the property, has a plan for an renovated restaurant and boatyard. “We want to maintain the Grove charm,” he said. “The residents don’t want some big development.” The restaurant’s 35-year lease expires this year.
