The Hyatt Place hotel has officially opened in Delray Beach, the first such property to open in the county since 2009, the Sun Sentinel reported. The 134-room hotel, which is owned by the West Palm Beach-based Kotter Group, is located at 104 NE Second Avenue in Delray Beach. “Hyatt Place is further proof that a hip urban center can support smart hotel projects,” said Jorge Pesquera, president of the Palm Beach County Convention and Visitors Bureau. The West Palm Beach metropolitan area has struggled in the hospitality sector since the downturn, with rates still short of those offered in 2006, according to STR. [Sun Sentinel] — Alexander Britell
