Rodney Barreto sells Key Largo estate for $2.74M

Prominent South Florida attorney Rodney Barreto and his wife, Sheila, sold their Florida Keys Palm Largo estate for $2.74 million, Barreto’s sister, who brokered the deal, confirmed with The Real Deal.

The 2.5-acre waterfront home at 1 Beach Road in Key Largo was last assessed in 2012 for about $1.44 million. It was previously sold in 2000 for $880,000.

The peninsula-shaped estate boasts 4,870 square feet of living space, four bedrooms, guest quarters, a summer kitchen, a two-vessel boat slip and sea wall.

“Waterfront property continues to be more and more sought after and so activity in the Keys has dramatically picked up,” said Nancy Barreto Hogan of Avatar Real Estate who represented her brother and sister-in-law along with Brittney Barreto, the sellers’ daughter. –Emily Schmall
