New World Tower adds eyewear giant Luxottica
Italian eyewear-manufacturing titan Luxottica is the latest luxury brand to sign a lease for 5,000 square feet at Downtown Miami skyscraper New World Tower.
The company has operated out of an office near Miami International Airport; it will vacate in November. Pointe Group Advisors handles leasing at the 30-story, 285,000-square-foot tower at 100 North Biscayne Boulevard. Luxury tenants include Italian accessory maker Bulgari, La Prairie skin care and Kenzo fragrances and French perfume shop Guerlain. Telecom giants Verizon and Global Crossing also reside in the building.
New World Tower is also equipped against hurricanes, as previously reported. Third-floor generators large enough to power a small city serve as backup in case of the devastating hurricanes and storm surges some climate scientists predict in South Florida’s near future. [Miami Herald] — Mark Maurer
