A six-acre private island formerly owned by Nick Hexum, frontman for alternative-rock band 311, is heading to auction at a starting bid of $3.5 million, the South Florida Business Journal reported.

Melody Key in the Florida Keys contains a 3,000-square-foot, solar-powered home with three bedrooms, wraparound balconies, a rooftop deck, floor-to-ceiling windows. Neither the house nor the adjacent guest house are hooked up to electric utilities. Hexum sold it in 2011, before the new owner had it heavily renovated.
