SoFla foreclosures down 56% in January

In the first month of the year, foreclosures in South Florida were down by 56 percent to 1,985 filings from 4,467 year-over-year, according to data from Condo Vultures.

The biggest January drop was in Miami-Dade County, where foreclosures slipped to 711 from 1,907 in a span of 12 months. Broward County saw a similar decline, to 787 from 1,645. Palm Beach foreclosure filings fell by roughly half, to 487 from 915.
