Startup connects Miami brokers with foreign buyers

Looking to capitalize on South Florida’s real estate boom, a tech entrepreneur created a website that links brokers in the region with Latin American investors.

Properati is a web portal in the same vein as Loopnet, Redfin and Trulia. The website was launched last year in Latin America, which gives it a major edge with South Florida’s most active international buyers. It received 1.5 million visits from Argentina and Brazil a year ago, according to the Daily Business Review.

Matias Koretzky, the U.S. managing director of Properati, told the Review he has an expanding portfolio of South American buyers he can bring to local real estate brokers. He is currently based in the Venture Hive shared office space in Miami’s Park West neighborhood.

“People in Argentina, anyone that has from $200,000 up into the millions, the first thing they do is look for a place to place that money here,” he said. “But if you want to buy a property in Miami, you have to contact a local broker, if you know one.” [Daily Business Review]Eric Kalis
