Plantation Holiday Inn sells for $12.5M

The Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites in Plantation traded for $12.5 million last week, The Real Deal has learned.

Vista Plantation Hotel of Kitchener, Ontario sold the 156-room hotel at 1701 North University Drive, according to Broward County records. The county recorded the transaction last Thursday. The hotel was originally constructed in 1981.

CREF II Waramaug Plantation is the buyer. State corporate records identify Paul Nutsbaum as the manager of the Boca Raton-based company. Branch Banking & Trust gave CREF II an $8.7 million loan for the acquisition.

The hotel is located southwest of the intersection of North University Drive and West Sunrise Boulevard.

HFF director Max Comess and associate directors Paul Hsu and Michael Weinberg represented the seller.
