South Florida home prices rise 16.2% year-over-year

South Florida home prices climbed 16.2 percent from March 2013 to March 2014, according to the latest report from Standard & Poor’s/Case-Shiller.

The Case-Shiller Miami Index, which tracks Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties, increased by 1.6 percent from February to March when seasonally adjusted. Nationally, housing prices jumped 10.3 percent from March 2013 to March 2014.

The national and composite indices covering 10 and 20 major metropolitan areas “saw their annual rates of gain slow significantly,” S&P Dow Jones Indices said in a statement cited by the Miami Herald. [Miami Herald]Eric Kalis
