Manalapan manse gets “Vanilla Ice Project” treatment

Rapper Vanilla Ice plans to dedicate 13 episodes of his DIY Network show to the renovation of a Manalapan mansion, which is on the market for $10.5 million.

The “Vanilla Ice Project” host, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, said in a YouTube video produced by Arena and Co. broker James Arena that the 4020 South Ocean Boulevard project is “one of the most unique things I’ve ever done.” The property is owned by Ken Brown. Douglas Elliman’s Michael Castro and Marisela Cotilla and Reback Realty’s Mindy Gaines and Sheri Reback are the listing agents.

“This is a great opportunity for investors or homeowners looking for a jewel in the heart of Palm Beach,” Van Winkle told the Coastal Star via e-mail. “The home is a little dated, and it would be a complete new build.”

A company tied to Van Winkle acquired a Hypoluxo Island property earlier this month for $1.43 million. The Lantana home is expected to be featured during season five of the show. [Coastal Star] — Eric Kalis
