The Ocean Resort Residences at Conrad topped off construction of its Jewel Box, a five-story glass-enclosed building that connects the hotel-condo in Fort Lauderdale Beach.

Orchestra Hotels + Resorts announced the $40 million redevelopment is slated for completion this fall.

“We are especially proud of our Jewel Box top off because it required a significant, collaborative team effort of envisioning and planning,” said Jose Luis Zapata, hotelier and developer, in a statement.“Now that we have successfully completed the most challenging portion of the property, our momentum is stronger than ever and we look forward to delivering this fall.”

Developers will begin adding sand to the project’s private beach club, Sky Beach. The Ocean will also include a Conrad-branded spa, heated swimming pool, two whirlpools, serenity deck, poolside restaurant and lounge with a 20,000-square-foot terrace, private butlers, an oceanfront restaurant, a gourmet market and wifi access on the beach.

Cervera Real Estate is the exclusive sales brokerage for The Ocean, which includes 109 units, beachfront villas and 181 resort residences. Prices start in the $400,000’s and go up to the millions. — Katherine Kallergis
