Three Miami penthouses are being sold by an investor from Monaco, including the former home of Mexican singer Luis Miguel.

Miguel first sold his penthouse in the Jade Residences at Brickell Bay for $2 million in 2012, and it has just hit the market again for $4.2 million.

Allan Kleer,  listing agent for all three units and broker with Fortune International Realty, told The Real Deal that Miguel spent $1 million to bring in a Mexican interior designer and give the penthouse a “Mayan” look.

The 4,260-square-foot residence has four bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, and an open layout with ocean views. The space’s most notable feature is an inverted pyramid hanging from the living room’s ceiling.

Kleer told TRD that Miguel wanted more privacy, so he sold the penthouse and uses his yacht instead.

The current owner bought a number of units during the housing downturn. Now that prices have gone back up, Kleer said, he decided it’s time to sell.

“He’s more than doubled his money,” he said.

Kleer declined to disclose the name of the owner. The owner is listed as Erik Vandefonteyne, according to Miami-Dade County property records.

The other two penthouses on the market are in the 900 Biscayne Bay condo tower and were bought out of foreclosure.

The first is unit 6207, a 3,535-square-foot residence that had $600,000 in upgrades.

It has a smart home entertainment system, 180-degree views of Bayfront Park and Bayside Marketplace, and white-glass flooring. It was first purchased in 2011 for $1.75 million, and is now asking for $2.9 million.

The second is unit 6101, a smaller residence with a lower asking price. It has 3,200 square feet, three bedrooms with their own terraces, and three bathrooms. The owner first bought it in 2010 for $1.4 million, and it’s now on the market for $3.7 million.
