“With Florida’s population growing at a steady clip, we’re seeing many healthcare providers and hospitals racing to meet rising demand through expansion and renovations,” said Fred Hames, executive vice president and general manager at Skanska USA Building in Florida, in a statement.

Construction began in January and is slated for completion in December 2018. ACAI Associates is the architecture for the project. JLL is the program manager.

Skanska is also working on the $47 million expansion of Broward Health North and the $225 million expansion of UF Health Shands’ Cardiovascular and Neuroscience Hospital in Gainesville, among other projects in the state. In December, Skanska signed a $101 million contract to build the Patricia & Phillip Frost Museum of Science in downtown Miami. — Katherine Kallergis
