Aloft Hotel announced for Aventura ParkSquare

Aloft Hotel is coming to Aventura ParkSquare, developer Integra Investments announced on Tuesday.

The Aloft, a W Hotels brand, will feature 207 rooms, an Aloft W XYZ bar and a pool deck. Construction will begin this fall and be completed by the spring of 2017.

Integra is developing the 8.5-acre, mixed-use development, which will also include a 131-unit luxury residential condo tower, 55,000 square feet of retail, a 100,000-square-foot office tower and a 45,000-square-foot wellness medical center. Integra is partnering with Norwich Partners for the hotel component, according to a press release.

Norwich Partners is also developing the AC Hotel by Marriott, a 233-key property next door to Aventura ParkSquare. Zyscovich Architects is designing the AC Hotel and Aventura ParkSquare.

“The Aloft brand embodies the buzzing atmosphere and lifestyle we are cultivating at Aventura ParkSquare,” Victor Ballestas, principal of Integra Investments, said in the press release. “We see great synergy with their innovative brand and the vibrant community we are creating at Aventura ParkSquare.”

The announcement adds to Aloft’s existing portfolio in South Florida. The brand will operate in Coral Gables, and is already open in South Beach and in Doral.

“We are very excited to be part of this area’s ongoing transformation as we deliver Aloft to Aventura ParkSquare, in conjunction with our other planned hotel offerings,” said David Leatherwood, CEO and Managing Member of Norwich Partners. “Aventura ParkSquare and its unique lifestyle are the perfect fit for the Aloft brand as we continue to expand our footprint in South Florida.”

Amenities within ParkSquare will include restaurants such as Icebox Cafe, outdoor green spaces and 24-hour valet and security. Barry’s Bootcamp and greenmonkey yoga will also be tenants. Last week, Integra announced that it had presold the project’s office component for $56 million. The health-oriented development will also feature extra-wide sidewalks for walkability; open staircases that support less use of elevators; and the elimination of curbs. – Katherine Kallergis
