The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reversed an earlier ruling and approved the designed height of six Miami condo buildings by Related Group, including two taller than 800 feet.

One Brickell, three planned condos at 444 Brickell Avenue, got FAA approval for heights of 881 feet, 832 feet and 639 feet above sea level. The FAA said in a ruling that the condo towers would impose “no substantive adverse effect” on air traffic.

Related, headed by CEO Jorge Perez, also got FAA clearance for Auberge Residences at 1400 Biscayne Boulevard, a planned cluster of two 649-story buildings and one 533 feet tall.

In early September, the FAA said neither One Brickell nor Auberge Residences should be taller than 470 feet and that it needed additional time to review the developments.

The Daily Business Review reported that other developers have received FAA notices expressing concern about the planned height of their buildings, including Florida East Coast Realty LLC, which plans to develop a 995-foot building at 1201 Brickell Bay Drive, more than double the FAA’s suggested 484 feet.

The FAA also has expressed concern about initial plans for a 969-foot tower on the campus of Miami-Dade College at a site near 400 Biscayne Boulevard. The FAA suggested 457 feet.
