Sawgrass Mills signs new upscale outlets

Sawgrass Mills is bringing on a handful of new luxury outlet stores like Marc Jacobs as part of the mall’s most recent expansion of its Colonnade Outlets section.

Besides Marc Jacobs, the new tenants include CH Carolina Herrera, Helmut Lang, John Varvatos Outlet, Rag & Bone and Tod’s. All are opening their first outlet stores in South Florida. The outlets are expected to open in November and December.

The Colonnade Outlets, one portion of the Sunrise megamall at 12801 West Sunrise Boulevard, currently houses 50 retailers and seven restaurants. It’s in the midst of an 80,000-square-foot expansion that will open an additional 24 stores and two restaurants, including the first Florida location of the Matchbox pizza bistro.

The mall is also building a new parking garage with 1,700 spaces that’s slated for completion in summer 2016. — Sean Stewart-Muniz
