A Boca Raton-based healthcare firm signed a lease expansion and renewal for its headquarters, now in two spaces that total more than 107,000 square feet.

Cross Country Healthcare is based at Meridian Office Center at 6551 Park of Commerce Boulevard. The firm, which has 300 employees at its Boca Raton office, also added nearly 37,000 square feet at 5201 Congress Avenue, according to a Cushman & Wakefield press release.

Cushman & Wakefield director Caroline Fleischer and Senior Director Addison Meriwether represented Cross Country. Christopher Aiken and Phuong Truong of BlackRock represented the landlord of the Meridian Office Center. BlackRock recently sold the property to Ivy Realty as part of a bigger $27 million sale.

Paul Kilgallon and Tamar Jacobs represented the landlord at the second building on Congress Avenue.

“The expansion space located at 5201 Congress Avenue was negotiated with a completely different ownership group, which added another challenge,” Meriwether said. “We were able to get all three parties on the same page, though, and mirror similar terms with two separate lease agreements.”

The healthcare company will lease 15,000 square feet at 901 Yamato Road until space on Congress Avenue is available next year.

“We helped Cross Country negotiate a recast of its current lease three years in advance, most notably with an above-market tenant improvement allowance,” Fleischer said in the release.

Cross Country is the sole tenant at 6551 Park of Commerce Boulevard, a two-story, 70,400-square-foot building. 5201 Congress Avenue, a two-story, 201,000-square-foot building, is nearby and was recently renovated. Both were built between 1995 and 1998.

The new space will include a gym, massage room, lactation room, yoga classes and a 24-hour market. – Katherine Kallergis
