A Fort Lauderdale estate made up of five waterfront lots — yes, five, you read that correctly — has hit the market for the first time with an asking price of $25.9 million.

The property, located at 76 Isla Bahia Drive, takes up the entire northeastern bend of the Harbor Beach island it sits on. It measures just under 1.5 acres and boasts its own full-size tennis court, waterfront pool and 600 feet of frontage on the connection between Lake Sylvia and the New River.

According to its listing, the 1960’s-era home was built for the late Ohio industrialist Robert Friedman and his wife Genie.

Friedman got his shot at success at the National Machine Company in Ohio after returning from the Navy during World War II. He became the company’s president and CEO for the nearly three decades before moving to Fort Lauderdale, according to his 2013 obituary in the Sun Sentinel.

It’s unknown how much he paid to collect all five of those waterfront lots, but the retired businessman built himself a seven-bedroom, five-bathroom manse in 1964 that still dominates the island it occupies today.

Though he’s since passed on, the home is owned by a Florida limited liability company with his daughter Elizabeth O’Connor at its head.

And now the family has brought the mansion to market for the first time. The listing belongs to Peter Barkin and Mark Gilman of Coldwell Banker. Their marketing materials suggest a potential buyer could update the home, subdivide the lots or build a brand new mansion.

The asking price breaks down to $2,915 per square foot.
