New York advertising exec picks up Boca spec manse for $9.2M

A New York advertising executive just paid $9.2 million for a newly built mansion in Boca Raton.

The contemporary manse is located on a 0.4-acre lot facing the Intracoastal Waterway at 1175 Spanish River Road.

It was completed last year by luxury homebuilder J.H. Norman Homes, which is listed as its seller in Palm Beach County property records.

The company paid $2.125 million in 2013 for the land — then just a vacant plot — and began construction of the home shortly after.

Measuring 8,303 square feet, the home boasts five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and ultra-modern style. Its airy floor plan is centered on the two-story living room, which is wrapped in floor-to-ceiling windows that slide back to make an entryway for the waterfront pool deck outside.

The home was most recently listed with Joseph Ligouri of Premier Estate Properties last April with an asking price of $9.95 million, or just under $1,200 per square foot.

Now that construction has finished and the home is ready, it’s been snapped up by Richard Tarlow of New York for $1,108 per foot — a $750,000 discount.

Tarlow, who has a home on Shelter Island in New York, is a veteran advertising executive who’s been mentioned in publications like the New York Times on numerous occasions. According to a profile on Tarlow in AdAge, he was an executive at cosmetics giant Revlon for nearly 20 years.
