Saglo Development tapped Hue Chen as president of the commercial real estate firm.

Chen, Saglo’s former vice president, plans to triple the company’s portfolio of shopping centers from 1 million square feet to 3 million square feet over the course of five years, according to a press release. His background is in leasing and acquisitions in the retail commercial real estate industry. In his new role, he will grow third-party services in Miami-Dade and Broward counties for Saglo Development, which is based in Miami.

Eli Randel will lead the new Miami office for CREXi, a commercial real estate exchange. Randel, the company’s new director of business development, will oversee the national sales team. He was previously director of dispositions for Invitation Homes, Blackstone Group’s single-family rental division, where he managed bulk sales. Before that, Randel worked at Cohen Financial, Auction.com, and CBRE.

Cristina Mas, former director of marketing and external affairs for Colliers International South Florida, has moved into a new role: commercial real estate associate. Mas worked in the marketing and development of commercial real estate for Colliers for six years. Now, she’ll focus on office and tenant representation in Miami.

K Group Holdings, the developer behind Metropica in Sunrise, hired Carl Romer as its director of development. Romer, a registered architect, has project experience across all real estate sectors, including luxury apartments, hospitality, retail, aviation and single-family home development. He will oversee Metropica, the 65-acre master-planned community that is under construction.

Meanwhile, the Trillist Companies, which is developing Metropica’s first residential tower, hired Albert Permuy as a construction manager. Permuy will oversee and manage Yoo at Metropica, a 28-story condominium with 263 units and 10 penthouses. In January, the condo tower received Fannie Mae approval.

Avison Young promoted one of its vice presidents. David Duckworth was named a principal in the company’s Florida office. Last year, Duckworth closed more than $100 million worth of transactions.

Premier Design + Build Group brought on Ytiel Lopez Jr. as a senior project manager. Lopez has more than 15 years of experience, starting in project management in Miami.

American Global brought on Clay Rives to join the company’s Miami office. Rives has 37 years of experience in the construction surety industry, with 33 of those at the Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland/Zurich Surety as a vice president and senior underwriting officer.

Farid Moussallem, director of international sales for Compass Miami, was appointed to the Miami-Dade Master Brokers Forum board.
