Horacio LeDon joins Fortune in new development advisory role

After leaving Miami and his position leading development marketing for Douglas Elliman Florida and California last year, Horacio LeDon is coming back to South Florida. 

LeDon has joined Fortune International Realty’s development division in an advisory role, he told The Real Deal. Since heading out to the West Coast last summer, LeDon left Douglas Elliman about two months ago to launch a new development division at Los Angeles-based Partners Trust.

The Miami native and top broker is licensed in New York, Miami and his home base of Los Angeles, where he will continue to live full time. “I find myself in Miami once a month because of clients looking to buy or sell,” LeDon told TRD.

Working with Susie Glass was a big draw for LeDon. They worked together at Douglas Elliman and left around the same time: Glass, a former executive vice president of sales and marketing at Elliman Florida, left to go to Fortune this summer as the firm’s vice president of marketing.

“The consulting game is generally more work than it’s worth,” he told TRD, but said Glass “knows how I think.”

He’ll advise on projects and refer developers to Fortune, which he said is a “one-stop shop.” The development side of the business was limited with Elliman.

In L.A., LeDon brought Elliman’s first big new development project, Greenland Group’s Metropolis in DTLA. In Miami, he spearheaded marketing for projects like the Residences at the Miami Beach Edition and Faena House. Before that, he was a former Related Cos. executive, and also the West Coast senior vice president for Starwood Capital’s ST Residential unit.

In all, LeDon has more than 16 years of industry experience and has sold billions worth of new development. His move to the West Coast was meant to be semi-retirement. “When every day is a Saturday, it makes it kind of difficult.”
