Cushman & Wakefield hired a real estate debt and equity team from Ackman-Ziff, the brokerage announced on Wednesday.

Robert Kaplan, executive managing director, senior director Chris Lentz and analyst Mark Rutherford joined Cushman. Kaplan previously led Ackman-Ziff’s Florida office, and before that worked at HFF.

Lentz has worked for Evercore Partners, Lazard and Lehman Brothers, and Rutherford at Price Waterhouse and in private equity and corporate finance positions.

Earlier this year, Cushman brought on industry heavyweight Robert Given as vice chairman of the commercial real estate firm.

Colliers International South Florida added to its urban core division with two new hires: Noa Figari is now vice president of urban core leasing and Sabrina Carapia is an investment sales broker focusing on Fort Lauderdale.

Colliers launched its urban core division earlier this year with Mika Mattingly and Gerard Yetming. The group is neighborhood-drive, so it works with retail, office, hospitality and other uses together. Figari said the two-story corner retail building at 137 North Miami Avenue in downtown Miami, for example, will be converted to a bar called the Manhattan.

Acqualina Resort & Spa and the Estates at Acqualina named Alexandra Wensley as its vice president of communications. Wensley has more than 20 years of experience in marketing and public relations, and previously handled communications for the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Miami.

Turnberry Associates hired Monica Gorban as a sales executive for Turnberry Ocean Club Residences, a luxury condo tower that just broke ground in Sunny Isles Beach. Gorban, who has more than 20 years of industry experience, has worked for projects like Jade Ocean Miami and the Mansions at Acqualina.

R. Steven Holt and David Adelstein joined Katz Barron Squitero Faust as partners in the law firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. They both specialize in construction law.

Commercial real estate firm Tiktin Real Estate Investment Services brought on Cliff Weisner as a senior associate of investment sales. He focuses on shopping centers and single-tenant net leased properties in Florida, as well as office buildings throughout the southeastern part of the state.
