People who want to live like a king or queen can own a royal-looking residence in east-central Florida for under $400,000.

The historic pink home, with design details inspired by European castles, is listed for sale with an asking price of $399,000.

The home is located in Rockledge, a town north of Melbourne, and is known as Rockledge Castle, or simply the Castle. Its castle-like architectural features include parapets, turrets and a round, two-story tower.

“The Castle is a property that when you see it, you never forget it,” said Kirk Kessel of Dale Sorenson Real Estate, told Florida Today. His agency has the listing for the home.

Richard Rummel, Jr., built the home in 1925 in Rockledge’s Valencia Historic District, a 22-acre subdivision named for the type of oranges that grew there. The subdivision is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

The 3,461-square-foot home has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a half bathroom. The property features extensive period plaster work, three fireplaces, a swimming pool, a screened-in back porch, and a collection of trees that bear mangoes and other fruits.

The east wing of the home has original hardwood flooring, period tile, French doors, a circular turret room with an arched entry, glass-pane cabinets, and an ornate chandelier in the bathroom on the first floor.

The west wing features a fireplace with a granite mantle, a walk-in shower, and a master retreat with a turret room suitable as a dressing room or vanity. [Florida Today] Mike Seemuth
