Related, SBE launch mixed-use project in Cancun: PHOTOS

The Related Group and SBE are continuing their partnership with a new project that marks Related’s continuing expansion into Mexico.

Related’s Jorge Perez and Carlos Rosso launched plans for SLS Cancun at a party held at the newly completed SLS Brickell in Miami in late December. The Brickell property, a 124-room hotel and 450-unit condo tower, includes two restaurants led by high-profile chefs, Bazaar Mar by chef Jose Andres and Fi’lia by chef Michael Schwartz. Arquitectonica designed the 55-story tower.

Related and SBE are also working on SLS Lux, which is across from Brickell City Centre.

The renewed interest in Mexico comes as the Miami condo market settles into its slowdown. In addition to SLS Cancun, the duo also launched plans for SLS Zihuatanejo. Both will feature designs by Piero Lissoni. – Katherine Kallergis
