Movers & Shakers: Federal Capital Partners taps Bruce Gago to lead new Miami office…and more

Federal Capital Partners brought on Bruce Gago to lead the company’s new South Florida office.

Gago is now vice president of acquisitions, and will be responsible for sourcing multifamily investments, as well as work with the firm’s commercial and structured investment teams. He joins Federal Capital Partners from Mast Capital, and before that the Carlyle Group and JLL. At Mast Capital, he was vice president for acquisitions and underwriting.

Asset and property manager Monument Real Estate Services named a new CEO, Gregory J. Lozinak. Monument’s former CEO Stuart Zook will become chief investment officer. As chief operating office since January 2016, Lozinak oversaw the firm’s portfolio of more than 12,000 units in the U.S. Previously, he was division president of Invitation Homes, where he oversaw the company’s 8,000-home rental portfolio with properties in North Carolina, Chicago and Minneapolis.

Elandis brought on Paul Hanley as its head of hospitality. Hanley joined Elandis from Grace Hotels, a luxury boutique hotel group he led as CEO, and a subsidiary of Elandis’ parent company, the Libra Group. His 40 years of experience also includes leadership roles at Ramada, Regent International Hotels and Radisson Hotels.

Mark Pateman was promoted to managing principal of Cushman & Wakefield’s Palm Beach County operations, which include the West Palm Beach and Boca Raton offices. He’s now overseeing 25 brokers. Pateman joined Cushman in 2006 after selling his boutique firm, Empire Resources. His clients have included PGP, Related, KBS, Stiles and Colonnade Properties.

Illustrated Properties hired Dina Shiber as relocation manager. Shiber, who has lived in Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Angola, South Africa, Cuba, Timor, Brazil, Namibia, Jordan and Qatar, moved to the United States two years ago. Before that, she managed an expat relocation division for an architect/project management firm in Qatar.

David Kurz has hired another agent to his new brokerage, Kurz Real Estate. Former Major League Baseball player Mickey Lopez joined Kurz with more than 12 years of real estate experience and 11 years of professional baseball experience. Lopez played for the Seattle Mariners in 2004. He was previously a Re/Max agent. Kurz now has more than 70 agents since it opened in August.

Jean Kelly is now an agent for Metro 1 Commercial, where she will focus on the Allapattah area and Metro 1’s Magic City development. She has more than a decade of real estate experience and has sold more than $16 million in commercial properties over the past three years.

Stiles promoted Ryan Karlin to president of the company’s retail group. Karlin will oversee the firm’s portfolio of about 4 million square feet of shopping and power centers.

Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates named Patrick Busteed a partner. Busteed joined NBWW in 2000 and has worked on the design of projects that include the Diplomat Westin, Fontainebleau Hotel, Eden Roc, W Hotel South Beach and the Miami Beach Edition.
