Miami-based IBT Group finished the first phase of the reconstruction and expansion of a 257-bed hospital in Panama.

The $125 million project to upgrade and expand Anita Moreno Regional Hospital is scheduled for completion next year.

IBT is replacing the original hospital and its psychiatric ward, built in 1970. The first phase of the project put a new 125-bed mental health care unit in the hospital, which serves more than 200,000 residents of the Los Santos Province in southern Panama. The first phase also added modern teaching and medical residency spaces.
