Florida Panthers’ Aaron Ekblad just bought a three-story house in Fort Lauderdale’s Las Olas Isles for $5.7 million, property records show.

The Canadian ice hockey player signed an eight-year, $60 million contract with the hockey team last year.

His new 7,500-square-foot home on 440 San Marco Drive traded for $760 per square foot. Records show the seller, 440 San Marco Drive LLC, linked to David Steinberg, bought the property in 2015 for $1.4 million before building the home.

Fort Lauderdale-based Zazarino Building Group recently completed the five-bedroom, eight-and-a-half-bathroom smart home, according to Redfin. It hit the market in January with an asking price of $6.7 million, according to online listings. The price was later reduced to $6.5 million.

Catherine Alegre of Century 21 City Real Estate represented Ekblad in the sale, according to Redfin. Alegre declined to confirm her client’s identity.

The home comes with an atrium, library, media room and recreation room. It features multicolored ceiling cove lights, marble and wood floors and ceiling speakers. Outside the home features 100 feet of water frontage, a pool and spa.

Sports celebrities have come and gone in Broward County in recent years. Last month, Miami Dolphins linebacker Kristian “Kiko” Alonso paid $1.45 million for a home in the Harbour Inlet neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale. In 2015, Former NFL cornerback Asante Samuel sold his Southwest Ranches estate for $7.5 million.
