Versailles, La Carreta owner sells two shopping centers in Northwest Miami-Dade

Felipe Valls Jr. and Isabel Dimise just sold two shopping centers in Northwest Miami-Dade for $16 million, property records show.

The Valls family owns popular Cuban restaurants Versailles and La Carreta. Records show Valls Jr. and Dimise sold shopping centers Country Club Shopping Center and Palmetto Plaza Center to Miami Lakes-based R.I.C. Inc., led by Rolando and Jonathan Hernandez.

Valls Jr. and Dimise bought the 36,656-square-foot Palmetto Plaza Center at 1995 West 60th Street in Hialeah for $1 million in 1992, records show. They bought the 56,880-square-foot Country Club Shopping Center at 7600 Northwest 186th Street in 1993 for $1.45 million, and an adjacent lot for nearly $1 million in 2008.

U.S. Century Bank provided $3.75 million in financing for the acquisition of Palmetto Plaza Center, records show. It was built in 1982 on 3 acres. Country Club Shopping Center was built in 1986 on 4.5 acres.

In 2015 Felipe Valls Jr. sold a vacant lakefront lot near Miami International Airport for $7.6 million.
