An unnamed New York hedge fund executive just paid $17 million, or over $2,100 a foot, for a furnished full-floor penthouse at Mansions at Acqualina in Sunny Isles Beach.

The 45th floor unit at 17749 Collins Avenue is a 7,980-square-foot condo, said Clara Verano of Dezer Platinum Realty, who represented the buyer but declined to identify him.

Michael Goldstein and Daniela Rendon from Mansion at Acqualina’s in-house team had the listing. The deal, including the furnishings, comes to $2,130 per square foot. It is the first time the unit has sold and the sale has not yet cleared records.

The four-bedroom, seven-and-a-half bath condo is decorated with Fendi Casa furnishings. Its features include floor-to-ceiling windows, a fireplace and marble bar, while the terrace has a pool and summer kitchen, Rendon said.

The Trump Group, led by Jules and Eddie Trump (no relation to President Trump), completed the 47-story, 76-unit Mansions at Acqualina in mid-2015. Among the buyers were Dennis Riese, chairman of the Riese Organization, and video game developer and software executive Joel Hochberg.

Mansions at Acqualina was the second Acqualina-branded tower to be built, after Acqualina, which was completed in 2006. A third condo project, the dual-tower Estates at Acqualina, is also planned. Trump put the Estates’ second tower on hold in October 2016 due to the market slowdown. Revised plans now call for a 154-unit, 51-story south tower and a 91-unit, 49-story north tower.
