Movers & Shakers: One Thousand Museum one step closer to opening with new GM & more
Hires also at ARA Newmark, Kaplan Residential, Niido and Trinity Commercial
One Thousand Museum is one step closer to opening by the end of this year.
Jason Kaye was named general manager of the luxury condo tower at 1000 Biscayne Boulevard. Kaye will oversee a staff of 35 and the building’s amenities. Kaye was previously director of operations for Marquis Association Management.
The development team, led by Gregg Covin, Gilberto Bomeny, Louis Birdman and Kevin Venger, broke ground on the 62-story, 83-unit tower in December 2014. The project marks architect Zaha Hadid’s first residential tower in the Western Hemisphere. She died in March 2016.
Tyler Minix is now a director at ARA Newmark in Boca Raton. Minix will focus on middle-market deals in southeast and southwest Florida. He founded Apartment Realty Services, a boutique real estate company that focused on institutional multifamily investment sales. At ARA, Minix is working with the multifamily investment sales team led by vice chairmen Avery Klann and Hampton Beebe, and director Jon Senn. The team closed 28 deals totaling more than $1.6 billion last year.
Kaplan Residential brought on Isaac Marcushamer as general counsel and managing director of the development firm. Marcushamer will oversee all litigation and corporate and real estate transactions for the company. He was previously a partner with Berger Singerman’s business and restructuring team.
Kaplan’s portfolio includes more than 25,000 homes, more than 2 million square feet of commercial space and a number of master-planned projects.
Collin Ross joined Niido Powered by Airbnb as senior vice president of acquisitions. Ross was most recently vice president at Encore Capital Management, a real estate investment and development firm led by Art Falcone, and before that was director of acquisitions at Trade Street Residential, a multifamily real estate investment trust.
Niido is a partnership between Airbnb and Miami-based Newgard Development Group that builds apartments designed for short-term rentals.
Trinity Commercial Group hired Michael Mogerman as a director of southeast Florida. He’s currently leasing about 1.3 million square feet of retail, primarily for Regency Centers and Azor Advisors. Mogerman previously worked for Woolbright Development.
Skanska USA promoted Graeme Kelly to senior vice president of the company’s southeast Florida division. Kelly has been with the construction firm since 1999, including as vice president of operations in Atlanta and executive director of Skanska AB in the Middle East.
